A low painted Gypsy table in the style of traditional Canal Ware, of elongated rectangular form, the top richly decorated with scrolling foliate ornament, raised on shaped legs united by a deeply scalloped apron. Executed in a vibrant palette of black, ochre, green, red and blue, the painted decoration reflects the distinctive ornamental vocabulary associated with the decorated wagons and domestic furnishings of Britain’s travelling communities.
